🧘‍♂️ Turn Down the Noise, Tune Into What Matters

Simple ways to reclaim your peace, deepen your love, and bring fun back into fatherhood this week.

This week’s all about turning off the noise so you can tune in to what matters: your people, your peace, and a bit of fun.

1️⃣ For Me (Improve Yourself)

📵 Take a 24-Hour Break from Social Media
Put the phone down.
No reels, no stories, no “just checking.”
Just 24 hours—and you’ll be shocked how much mental room it frees up.
You’re not missing out—you’re opting in to real life.

And yes, your thumb will try to unlock Instagram on muscle memory. Stay strong.

This is one of the more challenging things for me and what I’ve found most useful is to leave the phone altogether. Social media break for me usually means phone break. Drawer, lock box, whatever. If the phone is on me, I’ll check it.

Take the constant will-power battle out of the equation. Make one decision, leave it behind, and enjoy the day.

2️⃣ For ‘We’ (Strengthen Your Relationship)

🚶‍♂️❤️ Take a Walk and Talk About the Future
No phones. No agenda. Just walk and dream together.
“What do we want life to look like in 5 years?”
“Where would we live if money wasn't a thing?”
“What’s something wild we’d do if we had zero responsibilities for one week?”

Talk, wander, dream. The goal isn’t to plan—it’s to connect.

I call these “walky-talkys” and it let’s her know that anything is up for discussion. Dreams, stories, “If you won the lottery today what would you do?” type of fun.

3️⃣ For ‘WEEEEEEE!’ (Improve Your Relationship with the Kids)

🛩️ Paper Airplane Contest
Simple. Silly. Surprisingly intense.

Design. Fold. Fly. Measure who goes farthest, who does the most loops, who crashes the hardest.
Bonus points for style and sound effects.

It’s five sheets of paper and 15 minutes of connection you’ll both remember.

(And yes, your kid will try to make a “jet with missiles that shoot fireballs.” Let them.)

Even if you are the one doing the plane building, it’s all in the throwing contest. Be sure to hype it up. You know, counting down to launch and all. Winner picks dessert.

🔥 This Week’s Dad Quote:

“Every father should remember one day his son will follow his example, not his advice.”
Charles Kettering

They’re watching how we live, not just what we say.
So… breathe. laugh. play. Repeat.
