Shoulder-Walks & Joint Journals
Move daily, Share a journal, Dino-bot 😃
Look—I didn’t feel like working out this week. But I promised myself to move daily, and even just a 10-minute walk with the dog turned into clarity, energy, and a better version of me when I walked back through that door.
Not every win has to be epic. Sometimes it’s just showing up anyway.
✅ TL;DR Summary – Take Action Fast
🏃 Exercise 3x/week—but make sure to move every day
📝 Start a shared journal with your partner (physical or digital)
📖 Read a book with your kid using your silliest voice possible
1️⃣ For Me (Improve Yourself)
🏃 Exercise 3x/Week — But Move Daily
The goal isn’t six-pack abs. The goal is momentum and capability.
Get your heart rate up three+ times a week—but move your body every single day.
That could be:
A decent length walk with your kid on your shoulders
Pushups between emails
A family bike ride
Dancing in the kitchen like nobody’s watching (they are watching, but it’s fine)
You don’t need a gym. You need movement.
You’ll feel stronger. More patient. More prepared.
2️⃣ For ‘We’ (Improve your relationship)
📝 Shared Journal Entries
It might sound cheesy—but it can be gold.
Get a notebook, shared Google Doc, or voice memo and trade entries back and forth. You can write about:
Things you appreciate about each other
Funny kid moments
Future dreams
Tough stuff you’re working through
It becomes a safe space, a time capsule, and a reminder that your relationship is worth tending to like a garden—not just “managing like a calendar.”
3️⃣ For ‘WEEEEEEE!’ (Improve your relationship with the kids)
📖 Read a Book Together in a Silly Voice
Want a guaranteed smile (and a few belly laughs)? Read your kid’s favorite book—using the goofiest voices you can muster.
Pirate voice? Yes.
Opera singer? Why not.
Robot dinosaur? That’s peak dad energy.
This is how memories are made: low effort, high impact, full presence.
And if you’re not with your kids this week—facetime or record yourself reading and send it to them. Be the bedtime hero from wherever you are.
🔥 This Week’s Dad Quote:
"A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society."
