Best Dads Know Themselves (the good and the bad) then improve...
Use this ChatGPT cheat code for growth
Let’s be real—dads are expected to know everything.
But what if the bravest, wisest move we can make…
is admitting we don’t?
This week, we shift from surviving to strategizing. From reactive to reflective.
The result? You become more than just present—you become purposeful.
1️⃣ For Me (Improve Yourself)
🛋️ Start Therapy or Coaching
Let’s take the stigma out of self-work.
Therapy isn’t weakness—it’s wisdom. Coaching isn’t indulgence—it’s investment.
You wouldn’t drive a car without a tune-up… why go through life without one?
Here’s what it can help you with:
Unpacking old baggage so you don’t pass it down (build it or burn it)
Learning how to respond instead of react
Building tools to show up stronger for your family in every way
🧐 Don’t know where to start? Try a free consult call. Or ask a friend who’s been in therapy.
The first step is simply choosing yourself.
And when you do that, you’re choosing your family too.
Personal tip – if you feel like that’s too much of a stretch to have an actual person on the other end, hop onto chatGPT and copy and paste the following input to get you started:
“Act as a brain trust of world leading psychologists, counselors and performance coaches whose expertise focus on (pick your biggest goal from healing past traumas to pushing peak performance as a dad), and guide me through a coaching or therapy session as someone who has never been to one. I don’t feel like I’m broken per se, but I do know that I have more to grow and I want to maximize my development with the highest odds of sustainable success. Start by asking me the most important questions to really move the needle.”
2️⃣ For ‘We’ (Improve Your Relationship)
💬 Share One Thing You Appreciate Every Day
Keep it simple. Keep it consistent.
Examples:
“I love how you handled that meltdown with such calm.”
“Thanks for making sure the kids had what they needed.”
“You’re stunning… just saying.”
One appreciation a day. That’s all.
It’s the slow drip that fills the love tank. And guess what? You’ll both feel it.
Pro Tip on compliments: focus on things the person chooses rather than things they were born with. “Excellent choice of eye shadow” speaks to their taste whereas “you have beautiful eyes” speaks to nothing within their choosing.
3️⃣ For ‘WEEEEEEE!’ (Improve Your Relationship with the Kids)
🍪 Cook or Bake Something Simple Together
No need to go full MasterChef. Think pancakes, cookies, grilled cheese, or even smoothies. Let them stir, mix, sprinkle, or just taste test everything.
Yes, it’ll be messy.
Yes, it might take longer than if you did it solo.
But that’s not the point.
They’ll remember the giggles, the spills, the smells—and that Dad was right there for it.
🔥 This Week’s Dad Quote:
"Being a great father is like shaving. No matter how good you shaved today, you have to do it again tomorrow."
