đ Becoming the Dad You Want to Be: Focus, Curiosity & Connection
Short on time? Get more done with a little intentional focus time.
đ Hey Dad.
You know that feeling when youâre fixing something you kind of know how to fix, but your kidâs watching like youâre Tony Stark?
Yeahâwelcome to this week.
This oneâs about trusting the process of becoming the man you want to be and want them to remember.
1ïžâŁ For Me (Upgrade Yourself)
Replace multitasking with 1 hour of deep work per day.
No bouncing between tabs. No refreshing your inbox.
Pick ONE thing that matters. Set a timer. Go deep.
Youâll be amazed how much more you accomplish with fewer âproductive distractions.â
You donât necessarily need more timeâyou need more focus in the time you already have.
The trick here for me (since I so frequently feel guilty for working) is to pick a single thing thatâs a clear needle-moving task. We all have âto-doâ lists that never end. Pick the single most impactful thing, the one that even your partner can clearly understand how important/impactful it is and hammer away at it.
2ïžâŁ For We (Strengthen Your Relationship)
Learn something new about them.
Yes, them. Your partner, your ride-or-die.
Even if youâve been together for 10 years.
Ask something interesting like:
Whatâs your dream vacation right now?
Whatâs a goal youâre too shy to say out loud?
Whatâs a movie you secretly love but pretend you donât?
Curiosity is connection. Donât assumeâask.
3ïžâŁ For WEEEEEEEE! (Deeper bond with your kid)
Draw each otherâs portraits.
Simple Rules on this one:
No erasing.
No judging.
All masterpieces must be displayed like fine art.
Whether itâs stick figures or surrealism, the act of drawing each otherâbadly or brilliantlyâopens space for giggles, connection, and the kind of memories that stick.
đ„ This Weekâs Dad Quote:
âA dad is someone who wants to catch you before you fall but instead picks you up, brushes you off, and lets you try again.â
â Unknown
Let them stumble. Cheer the comeback louder than the crash.

Did you get surprising feedback this week? Nail the chorus with your kid? Picnic like a pro? Tell meâIâd love to spotlight your win.
â TL;DR â This Weekâs Moves:
Make yourself focus for 1 hour, on a single task.
Learn something new about your partner.
Draw each otherâs portraits.
